30 Sep 2025 ↑ A Drama Competition was successfully organized by the Youth Services Department, Gurdaspur, at Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dinanagar. The event was held in collaboration with the Punjab State AIDS Control Society, under the able guidance of the managing committee and Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari. Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari was the Chief Guest of the event, and Mr. Ravi Dara, Assistant Director, Youth Services, Punjab, Mr. Tejpal Kahlon, Instructor ITI, Batala, and Mr. Vishal Kailey, Typist, Youth Services Department, Gurdaspur, were the eminent guests.

The Drama Competition focused on significant social issues through themes like Drug Addiction (highlighting its impacts and challenges), HIV & AIDS (addressing causes, treatment, precautions, and awareness), the Value of Blood Donation, and other pressing social problems, depicted through powerful performances. The competition showcased impactful dramas reflecting on critical social themes.

Winners of the competition were:

*1. First Prize*: Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College

*2. Second Prize*: Baba Ajay Singh Khalsa College

*3. Third Prize*: Bebe Nanki College, Dhariwal

The Assistant Director of Youth Services, Gurdaspur, honoured Principal Dr. Sarla Nirankari, the Chief Guest. The College honoured Mr. Ravi Dara, Mr. Vishal Kailey, and Mr. Tejpal Kahlon. Prof. Sangeeta Malhotra and Dr. Pooja were also awarded during the event. All participants received certificates. The Drama Competition was deemed a successful event, effectively highlighting societal issues. An advocacy meeting followed, where officers from the Youth Services Department, Gurdaspur, awarded grants to Program Officers of the Red Cross unit. The event underscored the importance of creating awareness on social issues like drug addiction, HIV/AIDS, and blood donation, fostering dialogue through artistic expression like drama.
